Why must you make the key for the locking lug nuts from the most soft metal.
The passenger side went fine, the driver side the lock decided to take a shit. So 1/2 the wheels are on with key that is no good. So how does one get a locking lug nut off with out a key?

Because Nissans are terribly engineered garbage.

They only make a few different lock patterns so your local Nissan dealer may have a lock nut set in stock with the same keying as yours. If you ask nicely they might even let you just borrow the key for a few minutes.

It’s not terribly engineered, just they cheap out on little parts.

Nissan doesn’t make them, everyone uses the same shit. Mcgards i think.
Mine are in the glovebox, I hate those things.

this but I’ve had to use impact-grade sockets to keep it from cracking

I’ve heard of welding something to the ones that are still on and then using that to get them off.

smash ‘em off with an old socket?
or ring the parts department and see how to obtain a replacement (if available)
